- ➤ Spokane’s Aerospace Tech Hub consortium had its latest federal funding bid rejected after a previously awarded $48M grant was rescinded. The consortium learned around Christmas that the project would not advance, delaying plans to develop a 386,000 sqft aerospace manufacturing facility (built by Boeing in 1990) on S. Flint Road. - ➤ A public meeting held Thursday brought neighbors, developer Jesse Fox and county engineer Matt Zarecor together to address nearly 20 years of flooding at Timberland Terrace Pond near Needham Drive. County officials said a new stormwater system to divert spring water is under study, but no timeline has been set. The Spokesman-Review
- ➤ Spokane County will remove 50 black locust trees along the south end of Liberty Lake Golf Course pending commissioners' vote to address safety hazards from dead branches — Liberty Lake will contribute $30,000 plus traffic control and plans to rebuild Sprague Avenue later. The Spokesman-Review
