- ➤ Avista is proposing rate hikes that will raise electric bills from about $125 to nearly $158 and natural gas bills from $91 to $100 by 2030 to fund infrastructure upgrades and wildfire safety. - ➤ The Northwest Museum of Art and Culture unveiled a Lego exhibit of Spokane landmarks today after a six-month build by Brick Buy Brick's Bryce Colvin. - ➤ Senator Maria Cantwell announced federal funding of $7,062,000 for four Washington universities; University of Washington, Washington State, Western Washington and Gonzaga will use the funds for science labs and equipment including a new Cold Lab and a materials research center — boosting climate and aerospace studies. - ➤ Spokane leaders are pushing a bill in Olympia so the Waste-to-Energy facility can lower CO2 emissions and avoid an $8 million tax that might hit residents. Councilmember Paul Dillon said the proposal will be reviewed over the next 60 days. FOX 28 Spokane
