  • Bite2Go, started by local youth pastor Chris Sloan and his wife Brenna, delivers weekend meals to over 12,000 students from schools across the Inland Northwest. Second Harvest and Rosauers are running a matching donation campaign until Sunday + more funds will help meet growing food needs.  The Spokesman-Review

  • Michael Le, a Rosauers courtesy clerk in Spokane, earned third place at the National Best Bagger Competition on Monday night in Las Vegas after winning Washington’s state contest, receiving a $1,000 cash prize & bagging rights that show his skill. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Four Gonzaga journalism seniors covered Super Bowl week events in the Bay Area, reporting on NFL news conferences and community outreach activities. They arrived on Sunday and returned to Spokane on Thursday (gaining invaluable hands-on experience) that enhanced their broadcast skills.  The Spokesman-Review

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Police in Airway Heights report that two moose calves have been seen in Landreth Park since last Wednesday, and wildlife officials advise residents not to feed them & to keep pets at a safe distance.  KXLY

SPORTS NEWS

  • The District 6 wrestling tournament will take over Spokane Convention Center this weekend and is a qualifier for Mat Classic 37 later this month. One-day tickets are $15 for adults & $10 for students once the box office opens Friday at 3:30 p.m.  The Spokesman-Review
  • Dave Nichols’ Press Box Podcast released two new episodes this week — one with local sports anchors Bud Nameck, Dennis Patchin and Rick Lukens on the Seahawks vs. Patriots matchup on Sunday and another with former MVP Mark Rypien reflecting on Super Bowl 60.  The Spokesman-Review
  • Gonzaga women’s basketball team will face Oregon State tonight at the Kennel in Spokane as Greg Lee previews the key WCC matchup & potential season impact. Local fans may see fast-paced action in this exciting contest.  The Spokesman-Review
  • Gonzaga's senior forward Graham Ike was named one of 10 midseason candidates for the Karl Malone Award. He averages a WCC-leading 19.0 points while returning from an ankle injury and scoring 27.7 points in his last four games (his best recent performance).  The Spokesman-Review
