- ➤ The American Indian Community Center signed a 50-year lease at High Bridge Park (an ancestral fishing ground of the Spokane Tribe) to build its permanent home. The center will soon phase in operations with an expanded food bank and family services as fundraising continues. Spokane Public Radio

- ➤ Matt Lazarus and Jennifer Hansen have opened a new Barrelhouse Pizzeria at the former Zona Blanca on Howard Street after success in Cheney near Eastern Washington University. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ WSU lost to No. 12 Gonzaga 83-53 at The Kennel on Tuesday as 21 turnovers cost the team scoring chances, and coach David Riley said the Cougars struggled by playing too many risky passes (they lacked the force needed for a closer game). The Spokesman-Review
- ➤ Local sports analysts released updated bracketology rankings showing the Zags fell to a No. 4 seed, reflecting recent performance as the season continues and the team works to improve ahead of upcoming match-ups. KXLY
- ➤ USA Bobsled/Skeleton is hosting an in-person recruitment event in Spokane in May for athletes 18+ to test skills in bobsled and skeleton sports. Participants pay $75 and complete sprint, jump, and mindset exams + it is the only Northwest stop among 13 nationwide. KXLY
- ➤ The Spokane Chiefs lost 3-1 to the Seattle Thunderbirds Tuesday night at the Arena (snapping Seattle's four-game losing streak). The setback comes as the Chiefs face an 11-game stretch while battling for the last playoff spot, with Schmidt scoring two goals for Seattle. The Spokesman-Review
