- ➤ The Spokane Jewelers Guild held its regular meeting on Feb. 25 at Spokane Gallery and Framing, where members displayed insect-themed pieces including a copper butterfly pendant and an imaginative moonflower beetle brooch. - ➤ Spokane County Commissioners announced a pedestrian safety project near Mead High School after a fatal accident this year at Hastings Road and Bellwood Drive. - ➤ Shades of Motherhood Network received a $30,000 annual grant from the Washington State Perinatal Collaborative to support mental health programs for pregnant women and new mothers over the next three years. - ➤ The Mt. Spokane Wildcats lost a 3A boys state quarterfinal on Thursday — they now enter the consolation bracket to face the loser of Bellevue and Lincoln on Friday.
