COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A new report shows the number of homeless in Spokane dropped + local community leaders plan to review the findings to adjust support services.  KXLY
  • Spokane Public Schools and Spokane Parks are starting projects funded by the Together Spokane initiative this year. They will build all-weather turf fields and improve park facilities with upgrades including new playgrounds and bathrooms, with some projects starting this summer and others completed by early 2027.  KXLY
  • Spokane County Interstate Fair introduced its 2026 mascot, Clover, a newborn Highland cow born March 3, as part of a monthlong baby shower fundraiser — Tuesday donations for St. Patrick’s Day enter a drawing for free fair tickets.  KXLY

  • Organizers announced on March 17 that Pig Out in the Park ended its 44-year run after the 2025 festival, marking the close of a long-standing summer tradition at Riverfront Park. Bill Burke decided to retire the event after discussions with sponsors + community members.  FOX 28 Spokane
