ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A rockslide on US-2 near Shadow Valley is blocking traffic in both directions—crews from the Washington State Department of Transportation are coming to clear the road, and drivers should expect delays.  FOX 28 Spokane

CRIME NEWS

  • Scott pleaded guilty after giving a false bomb threat that forced an Alaska Airlines flight to divert to Spokane International Airport on July 5, 2023—his sentencing is set for May 21 and he faces up to five years in prison.  FOX 28 Spokane
  • Spokane County deputies arrested Andrea M. Fields on March 6 after they found her hiding in an attic near Deer Park when a homeowner reported her break-in attempt, and she said she had been kidnapped while she caused about $20,000 in damage before surrendering—she now faces charges of Residential Burglary and Malicious Mischief 1st Degree.  KHQ
  • Spokane County Investigative Unit detectives arrested 34-year-old Zachary S. Kennedy on March 17 and seized large amounts of DMT, psilocybin mushrooms, gallons of toxic waste, and several firearms near two schools — his rented residence served as a DMT lab and mushrooms grow site during the investigation.  Spokane County
  • Spokane County deputies arrested 56-year-old Dale Miller after he reportedly attempted to break into a home near Highway 2 and South Espanola Road just before 1:30 a.m. on March 18th—officers reviewed security video and seized a glove, suspected methamphetamine, and a butterfly knife during a search.  FOX 28 Spokane

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.S. Rep. Michael Baumgartner held two town halls Monday in Ritzville and at Whitworth University—meeting a smaller group of supporters in the morning and a larger, more critical crowd in the evening. He discussed immigration, border security, agriculture, and federal spending and said he will continue to hold town halls in every county he represents.  Spokane Public Radio
