  • On March 19, Dairy Queen offered free ice cream cones for Free Cone Day as customers could add a dip for $1, with proceeds benefiting *Children’s Miracle Network Hospital* at participating locations.  FOX 28 Spokane

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The National RV Show is running at Spokane Convention Center, offering free admission and deep discounts on new and used RVs through Sunday. The event features daily giveaways (including a free RV grand prize) and special financing options for visitors.  FOX 28 Spokane
  • Plunder, a new rum and tapas bar from the owners of Cease and Desist, opened in downtown Spokane on March 19 and is serving craft cocktails and shareable bites like wings and ceviche at 108 N. Washington Street between Main and Riverside avenues.  FOX 28 Spokane

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Notebook: The Musical continues at the First Interstate Center for the Arts, adapting Allie and Noah's love story; it opened Tuesday and runs through Sunday with nightly 7:30 p.m. shows (Saturday also offers a 2 p.m. matinee and Sunday a 1 p.m. performance).  FOX 28 Spokane

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A construction project will begin Monday at the dangerous intersection of US 195 and Meadowlane Road in Latah Valley — drivers will use J-turns and extra acceleration lanes ease merging during the one-lane setup — with work scheduled to finish mid to late July.  FOX 28 Spokane

HEALTH NEWS

  • Public health officials confirmed a measles case in a Kootenai County resident who visited Providence Sacred Heart Emergency Departments while contagious. Exposure occurred March 14 (12:48 p.m. to 5:52 p.m.) and March 15 (10:41 a.m. to 4:53 p.m.), and officials say the risk remains low.  FOX 28 Spokane
  • Dr. Gretchen LaSalle of MultiCare in Spokane said vaccine talks now include extending infant RSV shots and flexible timing for flu and COVID shots amid unusual virus spread, stressing that doctors address patient concerns without assumptions. Health officials urge families to vaccinate to prevent illness.  FOX 28 Spokane

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Developers plan Signal Park, a project for 153 housing units & a shopping center near South Hill Sports Complex, with retail & restaurant tenants expected by late 2027 or early 2028. Crews will also remove an old radio tower Saturday using a helicopter while updating the complex bathrooms.  FOX 28 Spokane

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Sounders beat the Whitecaps in Spokane on Friday, March 20 (per KXLY’s live updates) as local fans witnessed a key win that could boost the season.  KXLY
  • The third-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs will open the NCAA Tournament tonight at 7 p.m. in Portland when they face the 14th-seeded Kennesaw State Owls at the Moda Center, with key player Graham-Ike set to lead the team despite recent setbacks.  The Spokesman-Review
  • Gonzaga women’s basketball team will take on Ole Miss tomorrow afternoon in Minneapolis at the start of the NCAA tournament. Coach Lisa Fortier said her young team is ready to challenge the No. 5 seed with a determined spirit.  FOX 28 Spokane
