- ➤ Washington's recent budget cuts lowered funding for juvenile court truancy petitions, causing Spokane Public Schools to lose case managers and see a drop from 1,282 to 688 petitions; a supplemental budget will add three million dollars next fiscal year to restore support for at-risk students. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Idaho Department of Lands announced Wednesday that over 22,000 acres near Mount Spokane are permanently protected from development — via a conservation easement from Inland Empire.
