  • Fire Districts 9 and 4 host a community blood drive on April 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Station 91 on West Hastings Road (every donor earns a $15 e-gift card and food is provided by Caruso’s).  FOX 28 Spokane

CULTURE NEWS

  • Starting May 1, Northtown Mall hosts the Lilac City Vendor Fair every weekend until August. The event offers free admission, live artists, workshops, food and drink vendors, and rotating selections from over 40 local vendors operating from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  FOX 28 Spokane

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Spokane’s waste-to-energy plant will delay buying carbon credits next year under a state law, preventing an immediate $7M charge as the city plans studies on lowering emissions and exploring carbon capture (targeting low-income ratepayers). City officials say future costs and environmental upgrades remain a key focus.  Spokane Public Radio
