- ➤ After a 12-year restoration, the historic Cheney Depot reopened yesterday as the home of Eastern Coffee Roasters — featuring local historical artifacts — and hosts a dedication ceremony today from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 15 Union Street. FOX 28 Spokane

- ➤ Skewers closed Friday in observance of Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, marking the historic event when over 1.5 million Armenians lost their lives in 1915. The restaurant says it honors the past and preserves Armenian culture for the community. KHQ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Five local parent co-op preschools will secure funding for next year as Spokane Falls Community College steps in to support them amid statewide funding shifts. - ➤ Spokane Valley council will vote next Tuesday on a $44 million ice rink proposal by a local donor — if approved, it will build a 65,000 sqft complex on 11 acres near Sullivan Park and open by June 2027, with backing from the Spokane Jr. Chiefs youth hockey team. FOX 28 Spokane
