- ➤ On May 9th, Christian Brothers Automotive+Helping Hands for Single Moms and Mathew 22-39 gifted new cars to moms ahead of Mother's Day to give them much-needed transportation. FOX 28 Spokane
- ➤ This Mother’s Day, Spokane mom Kitara Johnson Jones will launch Gabriel’s Challenge at the Pavilion at Riverfront Park on Sunday evening to honor her late son who died from a fentanyl overdose on March 3 after his 24th birthday. Leaders from government, business, faith and nonprofit groups will join the event—featuring music, speakers and neighborhood bonding activities—to unite the community against opioid addiction. - ➤ Local moms Trooper Heather Axtman—who has served on the state patrol for 17 years—and Dr. Lacey Marks from MultiCare Deaconess balance work and family as they serve the community this Mother’s Day season. - ➤ A 62-year-old Spokane man was arrested on May 8 for impersonating a police officer near Leavenworth when his silver Ford Crown Victoria was reported on Chumstick Highway at 6:40 p.m. and later detained five miles outside Quincy at 7:16 p.m.—he has been charged with Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree. - ➤ The Spokane Police Department responded to a stabbing near downtown Spokane by the Mobius Science Center at 10:30 a.m. on Friday—officials are searching for the suspect while victim condition details remain unknown. KHQ
- ➤ Federal investigators labeled a Spokane home at 625 West Maxwell Avenue a nuisance property in a drug and gun case near North Central High School, and owner James M. Ferguson faces charges after police recovered Fentanyl, meth, and an unregistered AR-15 style rifle plus 58 emergency calls linking the property to various crimes, with the home set to be seized if he is convicted.
