CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Spokane Valley deputy arrested 47-year-old Brian E. Hohman after a brief foot chase on May 20 in a high-crime area near E. Trent Avenue—he fled after ignoring commands and was later booked at 8:50 p.m. on charges including violating a no contact order, obstructing law enforcement, assault, and malicious mischief. KHQ
- ➤ A man who said he had a bomb on an Alaska Airlines flight in July 2023—an act that forced the flight to divert at Spokane International Airport—was sentenced to 22 months in federal prison, three years of supervised release, and nearly $79,449 in restitution by Judge Thomas O. Rice. KXLY

The trail marks a decades-long local effort to expand and preserve parkland using funds from the city’s tax levy and conservation programs — it is designed to enhance community access while protecting wildlife habitat.
