  • Navy Veteran Jeffrey West visited his friend FM Collier's grave at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery on Memorial Day. West — proud of the peaceful, well-kept site — said the service honored veterans without families.  KHQ

CULTURE NEWS

  • Spokane Symphony and The Fox Theater have announced a summer schedule featuring 'An Evening with AIM' on June 2-3, youth awards on June 9, and a fireworks concert on July 4 at Lilac Bowl, with additional shows continuing through July 11 at local venues (including downtown and Valley locations).  FOX 28 Spokane

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Spokane County commissioners are considering a 21-year lease with Longball Inc. for Avista Stadium that could keep the Spokane Indians in the region through 2046. The proposal, discussed today, calls for a $100,000 annual base lease that increases by $2,000 each year and offers optional five-year extensions.  KHQ

SPORTS NEWS

  • WSU's baseball team will learn its NCAA tournament location today after a comeback win on Sunday in Mesa, Ariz. The Cougars (82 rating and three seed) may head to Los Angeles or Eugene.  The Spokesman-Review
