BUSINESS NEWS

  • Spokane's Upper South Hill is preparing for increased traffic as Home Depot is set to open on June 12 at the former Shopko building on 44th and Regal — a building that stood empty for six years. SPORTS NEWS

  • Saturday afternoon, Mt. Spokane’s Kade Brownell won the 3A state 3,200 meters at Mount Tahoma High School by running 9 minutes, 10.12 seconds—he finished ahead of Vincent Recupero and teammate Parker Westermann and earned the state title that had long eluded him. His win helped his team tie for second place with Lincoln.  The Spokesman-Review
  • Spokane Zephyr ended their inaugural season with a 1-1 tie against Fort Lauderdale at ONE Spokane Stadium on Saturday, and despite a strong second-half push including nine shots on target, Dallas’s 2-0 win over Carolina meant the team was eliminated from postseason play due to head-to-head tiebreakers.  The Spokesman-Review
