- ➤ Firestone Tires filmed a national commercial in downtown Spokane this weekend at Monroe Street Bridge, Monroe and Riverside, and Stevens and Riverside using specialized car-mounted camera equipment. - ➤ In 1889, over 1,400 GAR members gathered in Spokane for a grand encampment held at the Pacific Hotel — one of the few brick buildings in town — with meetings, a campfire, and an elegant ball planned for visitors from Seattle and beyond. The Spokesman-Review
