CULTURE NEWS

  • Spokane cocktail week is underway (running through the week) at local bars, offering tasting events where residents can try creative drinks (at festive venues) as part of the community celebration.  KXLY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Washington Department of Natural Resources imposed a burn ban in the Spokane area beginning May 29 that limits outdoor burns to those with permits or in designated campground fire pits (per Spokane County Fire District 4).  KXLY
  • I-90 west of Spokane was narrowed to one lane each way last night for a week-long paving project — lane reductions run nightly from Highway 904 to just west of Geiger Blvd from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.  FOX 28 Spokane
  • Governor Bob Ferguson signed an executive order Monday—directing state agencies to develop workplace accommodations and training for employers to support women experiencing menopause at work. The measure is expected to help nearly 38% of working women facing symptoms like hot flashes and brain fog.  KXLY
