A woman was transported to a hospital for hypothermia after entering the Spokane River near WSU campus along Riverpoint Boulevard at 5:30 p.m. today as police reported she may have taken drugs and warned that the river remains dangerously cold.

Avista signed a memorandum of understanding with an unnamed large customer that will draw 125 MW starting in 2029 (with a plan to reach 500 MW by 2032), an amount equal to more than half of Spokane County customers’ combined power usage; the utility says the customer will cover the new infrastructure costs.
