- ➤ Spring of Hope International is hosting a run at Life Center in Spokane to raise awareness and funds for water access in Kenya—participants will walk 100 meters with a bucket of water to experience the burden faced by women who travel long distances for water. Those joining will pay a $45 entry fee with an extra $10 for a t-shirt and the event starts at 8 a.m. tomorrow. FOX 28 Spokane
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested Ian S. Richart in Spokane Valley after he held a resident at gunpoint during a standoff with law enforcement—he faces first-degree burglary, kidnapping, and unlawful possession of a firearm charges and remains in jail without bond. Authorities say he was a suspect in a June shooting but has not been charged in that case. The Spokesman-Review
- ➤ On Wednesday morning, Sarah Doxey was fatally struck while jogging on South Perry Street, and a 17-year-old suspect fled the scene—crashing his car and failing a sobriety test before police arrested him on charges of Vehicular Assault, Felony Hit and Run, and DUI. FOX 28 Spokane
- ➤ Spokane County and Spokane Valley deputies arrested John R. Cravens on July 15 after he fled on a bicycle on North Argonne Road near Interstate 90 — a July 14 traffic stop showed he gave a false name and detectives later confirmed the convicted felon now faces charges for burglary, theft, stolen vehicle possession, identity theft and a fugitive warrant from Idaho.
