- ➤ On July 28, 2025, two teenagers were injured in a drive-by shooting on South Hill near 5600 S Hatch—one victim was in critical condition and both were taken to a local hospital as Spokane Police continue to investigate the incident. FOX 28 Spokane
- ➤ Skeletal remains found in Spokane have been linked through DNA evidence to a 2022 double killing of an Omak couple near the Canadian border — the remains were identified as 25-year-old Dylan J. Harrington, ending a multiple-year manhunt. The Spokesman-Review
- ➤ Police reported that two 18-year-olds (one critically injured) were injured in a drive-by shooting early Sunday on South Hill; officers responded at 3 a.m. near South Hatch Road and East 54th Avenue and transported the victims to a local hospital. KXLY
- ➤ Spokane Valley deputies arrested 41-year-old Joshua J. Arkinson early Monday morning near the Spokane Valley Mall after he shattered a hotel glass door and threatened staff with a knife at 1:30 a.m., and they later recovered two knives and brass knuckles from him when he reportedly said five girls were coming to kill him. - ➤ At about 1:20 a.m. on July 28th, Spokane Valley deputies arrested 41-year-old Joshua J. Arkinson after he broke a hotel door window and claimed people in the forest were trying to kill him — deputies recovered two knives and a set of metal/brass knuckles — and he was booked on felony and misdemeanor charges. - ➤ A host family said their 16-year-old French exchange student Mathilde Le Loc'h left their Spokane Valley home at 3:30 a.m. Monday and was later confirmed safe in Coeur d'Alene—she traveled 25 miles on foot and contacted her family via WhatsApp at 8:30 p.m. KHQ
