  • A local motorcycle club named DDARC held its fifth annual backpack giveaway on Sunday at the Spokane Valley YMCA to distribute nearly 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to families before school starts—organizers said the drive eased stress for parents facing financial challenges.  KXLY

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Scale House Market in Spokane Valley opened two months ago as an indoor year-round market with over 65 vendors selling local food, art and home products. Chef Samantha Gimlin now runs her Italian shop, La Dispensa di TerraTerra, at the market—she plans to expand her offerings as the venue hosts classes to help vendors grow their business.  The Spokesman-Review
