Smile-A-Mile Painting in Kennewick collected clothes, pillows and hygiene items and delivered them to Calvary Spokane Church's family center this weekend to support families displaced by the fires affecting over 60,000 people.
Ready-to-eat lunches donated by World Central Kitchen were also distributed to those in need.

Built in 1929 as Mission Funeral Home and later serving as Thornhill Funeral Home and an office center after a 1980 remodel — the building at 1322 N.
Monroe now houses Music City of Spokane, which displays fine pianos and organs.

Unhealthy air quality from wildfire smoke led to the cancellation of a Sunday baseball game by the Spokane Indians and ticket exchanges for fans — local performer Luke Bryan postponed his Airway Heights show to Oct.
