- ➤ Today from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., flower deliveries for Sergeant Ken Salas memorial are accepted at the Spokane Convention Center—deliveries will also be accepted on August 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Donations can be made at local Canopy Credit Union branches, the Spokane Valley Police Department or Spokane County Sheriff’s Office to help pay for service costs. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Evacuation notices for the Crescent Road fire have been lowered from Level 3 as areas from Long Lake Road to Lincoln County follow GET SET and GET READY zones—900 acres have burned and the fire is 27% contained. KXLY
- ➤ Firefighters are responding to a brush fire near North Lower Crossing Street and West Falls Ave — they have called it a high response location and have not yet confirmed if any structures are threatened. KHQ

- ➤ The Pend Orielle County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Harry David Lashbrook—a 62-year-old man from Spokane last seen on August 16 picking huckleberries in the Boyer Mountain area while wearing a yellow rain suit, jeans, and a dark t-shirt—and he is 5’10” tall with hazel eyes. FOX 28 Spokane

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Spokane allocated $7.5 million for nine affordable housing projects that include four new construction projects adding 95 units—63 designed for households earning 60% or less of the area's median income. Two rehabilitation projects will add 99 units—50 existing and 49 new—while a homeownership project will create 12 townhomes and two projects will aid 86 vulnerable households. FOX 28 Spokane

- ➤ Spokane is set to host the Nike Cross Regionals Northwest cross country championship for the first time at the Spokane Polo Fields on Nov. 14 and 15.
