- ➤ The Whitman County Sheriff's Office is asking for help to identify a suspect after a burglary occurred at 6:45 a.m. today in Uniontown — a heat advisory covering areas including Spokane Valley remains in effect until 9 p.m. Wednesday. KHQ

- ➤ Acting Spokane County Treasurer Mike Volz will host a Q&A session at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the North Spokane Library — 44 E. Hawthorne Road where residents can ask about property taxes and county government. Volz, who was appointed in February and served 14 years as Deputy, will also explain his plans to run unopposed in the 2025 General Election. The Spokesman-Review
- ➤ Spokane County will soon raise parking fees and fines at the county courthouse and expand enforcement hours as it shifts to virtual permits with the ParkMobile app—moves designed to align rates with the city and reduce reliance on the general fund amid a projected $20M deficit. - ➤ Spokane City Council is considering a proposed ordinance called 'Safe and Welcome in Spokane' that would require federal immigration officers to show a warrant before entering private events in public spaces.
