- ➤ On August 24th, a Spokane County Deputy tried to stop a motorcycle with no license plate and the suspect fled by crashing off-road and running on foot through thick brush. Deputies used a drone with a thermal imaging camera to quickly locate and arrest the suspect—Lucas M. Clevenger—who now faces charges including Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Vehicle. - ➤ Today, the traveling tribute “The Wall That Heals” held its opening ceremony in Spokane and was escorted by motorcycle riders from Spokane Tribe Resort and Casino. The 375-foot wall honors over 3 million Vietnam veterans—listing 58,281 names—and veteran John Gomez said it helps families remember past sacrifices. KHQ

- ➤ Teachers in Mead voted Thursday to authorize a strike if a contract deal is not reached as 97.1% of members backed the move & union leaders cited concerns over large class sizes and heavy workloads. Negotiations will resume today and union leaders hope to reach an agreement before school starts after Labor Day. KHQ

- ➤ Providence is limiting visitor access for kids under 18 in certain hospital units—labor and delivery and NICUs—in Spokane and Stevens counties due to recent measles cases. The hospital system will update the restrictions as the situation changes. KXLY
