  • A motorcyclist died after a crash in Spokane Valley and local authorities are investigating the incident.  KXLY

CULTURE NEWS

  • A moving tribute honoring Vietnam-era veterans exposed to Agent Orange is now on display at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex in Spokane. The Wall That Heals is a three-fourths scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. — it glows orange, displays names of over 58,000 Americans including 98 from Spokane County, and is open 24 hours through Sunday.  KHQ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Eastern Washington University’s CAMP program for first-generation college students will continue with a $2.1 million donation from the Krumble Foundation—money that will support help with financial aid and class registration—and the program has aided students since 2020, with Kasey Sigaran now volunteering to guide new students as she prepares to graduate this spring.  The Spokesman-Review

  • Two Spokane immigrants who sought asylum chose to return home after months in ICE detention—21-year-old Cesar Alexander Alvarez Perez left while his friend Joswar Slater Rodriguez Torres remains in detention awaiting a hearing. A teen from Ferris High School also went back to Guatemala after being denied bond, raising concerns about ICE policies in our community.  The Spokesman-Review
