- ➤ Rising gas prices in Washington led many drivers to fill up in Idaho after a six-cent-per-gallon fuel tax raised costs on July 1 and is set to increase 2% with inflation; in Liberty Lake a station charged $4.29 while prices in Idaho came in from $3.49 to $3.59 — prompting concerns from Senator Leonard Christian about lost state revenue. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Spokane Regional Health District said tuberculosis cases have risen from 5 in 2020 to 12 in 2024 and now show 11 active cases with 20 under observation today, and Spokane County Commissioners reported that an extra TB nurse may be needed in 2026 — a nurse required solely to give and watch over patient medication. - ➤ The Washington State Chapter of Huntington’s Disease Society of America is hosting the Team Hope Walk at Orchard Park in Liberty Lake on October 4—registration starts at 9:00 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:30 a.m.; all funds raised will support efforts to help those affected by Huntington’s disease.
