- ➤ Jewels Helping Hands will run Spokane’s homeless navigation center under a $1.7 million, 18-month contract approved Monday by City Council— the group will work with Providence to help homeless people find shelter and housing services. - ➤ The Spokane Valley Fire Department was awarded $5,500,194 in federal grant funds from the Community Wildfire Defense Grants program to reduce wildfire risks in the area.
