  • Brunot Hall began as a mansion donated by Felix and Mary Ann Brunot that was converted into St. Mary's Hall—a girls' school serving Spokane's wealthy families before enrollment fell as public schools improved. The building later housed a dance studio, theater, and wartime worker apartments until a 1973 fire during a standoff led to police injuries and its eventual demolition.  The Spokesman-Review
  • Three local friends enjoyed a creative Halloween outing, donning pop culture costumes and trick-or-treating through nearby neighborhoods. They visited various spots—experiencing playful challenges and humorous encounters amid spooky decorations.  The Spokesman-Review

  • A security company asked a judge to block Washington state's new sales tax expansion law that went into effect on October 1—this law now taxes services like digital advertising, live performances and security monitoring.
