COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Sullivan Road Bridge, named after early settler John Sullivan, opened in November 1951 to link growing parts of Spokane Valley. Weight limits on the old span led officials to add a bridge in 1973 and replace it in January 2017+ marking decades of local progress.  The Spokesman-Review
  • Spokane was recently ranked among the worst drivers in Washington—recording 31.7 incidents per 1,000 drivers in a LendingTree analysis that included tens of thousands of crashes, speeding tickets, DUIs and insurance inquiries. The report placed Spokane behind only Olympia and Kirkland.  KHQ

  • Spokane's iconic Parkade was added to the Washington Heritage Register and may soon be listed nationally as one of the state’s only two recognized parking structures—an honor that offers tax breaks and potential federal credits.
