COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Spokane County invited residents to display green lights in windows as part of Operation Green Light for Veterans, an event running from November 4-11 to honor veterans and their families. The County Courthouse, Spokane Regional Veterans Services Center + Veterans Arena will be lit green to recognize the more than 44,000 veterans in the area. FOX 28 Spokane

- ➤ Tim Woodworth, an aerospace industry manager, won a four-year term on the Mead School Board with 57% of the vote and beat Martin Kolodrub who received 42.3%. He is backed by current board members and is a local parent with a child in the district. The Spokesman-Review
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Spokane Transit Authority and Transit App announced a five-year contract that gave all riders automatic access to Royale premium features on November 4—adding real-time bus tracking, automatic detour detection, and tap-to-pay options for planning and navigating the bus network. FOX 28 Spokane
- ➤ The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office will host a Law Enforcement Career Day on Friday, November 14—from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.—at the Regional Training Center at 13033 W Medical Lake Rd, offering free access for high school students to tour facilities and join demonstrations. Spokane County
- ➤ Spokane voters approved Spokane Public Schools’ Proposition 1 by 60.75% on November 4, which authorizes a $200 million bond measure to rebuild Adams and Madison Elementary Schools, improve North Central High and Gary Middle Schools and build a new Trades High School at Spokane Community College — upgrades that will benefit 66 facilities over the next 21 years through annual property taxes. - ➤ Nearly 1 million Washington residents and 130,000 Idahoans face tighter budgets this month because a court order means emergency SNAP funds will arrive over a day late — state officials say Gov. - ➤ Tuesday’s TV and radio schedule offered a full slate of sports events including college basketball, NBA games, college football, hockey, and a Champions League match with airtimes from noon to 8 p.m.—the broadcasts appeared on ESPN, NBC, ABC, CBS Sports, TNT, and local radio stations to give fans plenty of ways to watch and listen.
