On November 11th, a Veterans Day celebration at Spokane Arena honored veterans and raised awareness of mental health issues, with EWU student Sara Thompson (organizer of the Yellow Poppy Project) distributing about 1,000 poppy seed packets to encourage community planting.

The free event also greeted the first 200 veterans with notes from local 5th graders (expressing gratitude) and provided resources from veteran support services.
