  • Volunteers at Neighbors Feeding Neighbors in Spokane Valley served over 400 Thanksgiving meals—helping families face rising hunger as fifth-grader Michael Abdallah and others give hope to those in need.  KXLY
  • A professional trail crew from the Washington Trails Association built 85 box steps at Rocket Gulch Stairs on November 23rd to connect the High Drive Bluff Park trail system to a nearby neighborhood—improving safe trail access for local residents.  FOX 28 Spokane
  • The annual Winter Market—taking place on Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at CenterPlace Regional Event Center—will offer unique holiday gifts free to the public, including vendor booths, festive beverages and holiday music.  KXLY

  • Frontier Airlines launched a new nonstop flight service from Spokane International Airport on Sunday, with flights to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport twice a week and fares starting at $29—this service offers an affordable choice for holiday travel. CULTURE NEWS

  • Latinos En Spokane held its eighth annual Tamalada at West Central Community Center on Saturday where five local businesses cooked tamales with flavors from Latin America. Families tasted tamales from regions like Mexico, Venezuela, and Colombia—Raspados Coco Leche won the contest with traditional Mexican tamales and a $200 prize.  The Spokesman-Review

  • International students at Spokane universities are sharing their cultures and religions—sometimes facing conversion pressure from campus ministers—while campus clubs and advisers build safe spaces for respectful dialogue.   • Spokane tech repair shops like UBreakIFix on the North Side are fixing old phones, laptops, and game consoles to reduce e-waste—manager Louis Johnson and city official Jill Reeves note that free drop-off sites and a new repair bill will help cut costs and waste.
