BUSINESS NEWS

  • Overnight snow made roads slick and drivers rushed to local tire shops for winter tires they should have installed weeks ago—shops reported waiting times over a day with one shop expecting to change tires on over 60 cars by day's end. HEALTH NEWS

  • VA hospitals have recorded missing patient notes, wrong prescription doses, and even patients marked as dead as problems persist with the new records system—issues that have slowed care for veterans ahead of the tech expansion. Officials say many errors are being fixed and the improved system will expand later while medical staff warn that problems still affect treatment.  The Spokesman-Review
  • Spokane Fire Department said it answered about 110 overdose calls each month since September — 40 fewer than usual — while the Spokane Regional Health District reported that county overdose responses and hospital visits for opioid overdoses dropped as naloxone use before EMS arrived reached a high since 2019.
