  • Numerica’s Five Days of Family Fun kicked off Saturday with a Spokane Chiefs game and offers free skating, tubing, and movies. Today, the Skate Ribbon runs from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Spokane, with Mobius Discovery Center hosting family play on Monday, and North Idaho events begin Dec. 31.  FOX 28 Spokane
  • The Innovia Foundation’s annual community grants program is now open for nonprofits across Eastern Washington and North Idaho to win over $1M for arts & culture, economic opportunity, education and health.   • FAVS News visited Feed Spokane this Christmas week to show how rescued food is re-routed for those in need.   • Readers shared cherished memories of the historic Crescent department store in downtown, with nearly 50 letters submitted + published by The Spokesman-Review. HEALTH NEWS

  • Mountain West Food Group, LLC is recalling 2,855 pounds of raw ground beef because routine testing revealed E. coli O26. The product, produced on Dec. 16, 2025, was sent to retail stores in Washington + other states, and consumers should dispose of or return it if found.  FOX 28 Spokane
  • SpokAnimal closed its kennel Saturday after a veterinarian recommended the shutdown — a response to a respiratory virus spreading among dogs — as samples were sent to a California lab for testing and antibiotics are used to treat the affected animals while cats remain safe.  FOX 28 Spokane

  • The Spokane Chiefs will face the Wenatchee Wild in an upcoming game — local fans can look forward to competitive hockey at the arena.  KXLY
  • Saturday's nonleague high school basketball tournament at West Valley HS featured Mead's Addison Wells-Morrison scoring her 1,000th career point in a 42-30 win over South Salem and Colfax's Adrik Jenkin hitting nine 3-pointers with 37 points in a 65-52 victory over Pullman.  The Spokesman-Review
