ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Spokane firefighters rescued two people trapped by smoke from an apartment fire at Sky View Apartments on 5th Avenue near Cedar Street around 12:45 p.m. Thursday when a stovetop left on with combustible materials sparked the blaze in a renovated unit and filled hallways with smoke—firefighters contained the fire to that unit and confirmed no one was injured or displaced. - ➤ On May 22 at around 1:35 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies pursued 32-year-old Damon J. Smith after he trespassed and ignored multiple warnings, and when he fled between business lots and hid under a truck, K9 Bo quickly located him—he was arrested on charges including burglary 2nd degree, resisting arrest, obstructing and an active warrant for cyber stalking. - ➤ According to the FTC website, victims lost over 38 million dollars in Q1 due to government imposter scams—scammers who demanded immediate payment using unusual methods—and one victim lost $4,000 after receiving a fake summons. Spokane County
